What do you think about parents using home drug-testing kits to test their children for drug use?

For a small fee, parents can now perform a urinalysis at home, which provides instant results to detect the presence of 10 types of drugs in their child’s system: marijuana, cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, barbiturates, opiates, oxycodone, MDMA, or Ecstasy , Benzodiazepines and proxyphene. There are also saliva swabs to detect, which can be easily stored in a car glove compartment, as well as oral tests, alcohol and tobacco consumption.

If a parent their child drug test, they do not have a particularly good job at being a parent.

very nice idea! Children watch out!

I think if a parent has a strong suspicion that their children have with drugs, they have the right to test them. It is best to catch the problem early.

If you are under 18 years, they have every right. Parents need to protect their children.

I think that is a great idea. If your children are living under your roof they should follow your rules, period. If they want to do drugs, go do it under your own roof.

I’m mixed on this because I have been the perpetrators back in the day (a few years ago), but now clean. . . I believe that children in tests of today a smart, what to do. I now have children and wouldnt ‘want them to do this to springen._______________________________________________________Ich to produce my own music and it, too. I think it’s great. We live in a world in which it is a concern, and if your child has a problem you can not help them if you do not know.

I did not know you could get those for tobacco. lol, but I do not know – whether it be illegal drugs, probably the best for their own steps and someone stops them. On the otherhand, it penetrates the Childs privacy. I think they should be treated like a child to 18. If they are not their own adult decision about medications, which then, they should be left to a Down-and-out to be himself.

I totally agree with him! It is time that we are our children that drugs do not teach for you. Children are our future, it is up to us to ensure parents that they have a future.

I think it’s a good idea. Hell, we can not beat them any more, it as child abuse, so we must take control over it somehow!

I totally agree with grisgris. . Drug tests are envasion total privacy and a way to reduce your relationship with your child. (Was to be expected under certain circumstances, that child does of cocaine and he was staying, to the parents, etc to stay clean)

I think it’s a good idea. It’s about time, as far as I’m concerned. I dont think it is an invasion of privacy, it is said, how can children do what they want, as it’s in private getan. Was says the result of poor education, that’s not quite either, of course, some parents total care, but if they do not give a damn they just do not buy the drug testing kits.

Good idea. It is the responsibility of parents help their children to make good decisions. Once a child gets up confused in drugs, they are not any good choices. Drugs is one of the worst things for children, and I firmly believe in doing whatever it takes to keep your children from drugs.

  15. Henry_Tee 29 July 2010 at 6:31 am #

This is a great idea, because teenage children always lie to take on drugs.

I see nothing wrong with that. Children belong to their parents, and it is the parents to ensure that their children are not in the thing they do not come. It should be a law, it would probably be more and more children out of trouble if it was.

If the child has already demonstrated he / she can not trust him, and drug use is already part of the problem was, I think it is a beautiful form of intervention. The message to the child. . . . likely if they are older. . . is Hey, Mom and Dad gave me enough to try and Protect me from myself.

Drug tests and drugs are big business! Everyone makes money out of them, except the user. I think the parents have the responsibility to know whether their children are using drugs

  20. Karlo 29 July 2010 at 8:52 am #

I think it would be effective as long as one good suspicion that your children do, drugs, or if you do not tell them that you do these tests. Use it mainly to save your children from drugs, not as a device to make them feel bad or blackmail or something.

If the parent has enough reason to mistrust their child and suspect drug or alcohol use, then I think that this is a good idea. It is difficult for the parents to their children, so many of them now full-time jobs on top of, a parent, housekeeper, cook, laundry service, etc.. . They know not only more time at home, to know exactly where their children go, who they, what they could tun.Es a good way to help kids of drugs to be. A teenager would not smoke pot when they know that he mom a drug test she gives him every night when he comes home has.

I think it’s great that we have to recognize a simple way to drug use in our children, but I do not think it will be used, provided the parent (s) of the drug to be suspicious. I would hate it if a parent with the tests on their children, who are already seeing good scare children – it expresses only the children further away.

Parents have no right to that sh * t. That America is doing

  24. chained_angel94 29 July 2010 at 10:10 am #

I think that children have a right to their own privacy. When I found out my son was Smoking Weed then by all means. . No smoking. If there anyother drugs (coke, ice, crack, heroin, Etc. ..), as I would definitely kick his ass! A home kit is to do nothing but prove that he does. In conversation with him and explained, would have worked right from wrong, I say better.

  25. tinaturner 29 July 2010 at 10:41 am #

the children are still to be done on drugs, they are not gonna stop, because Mama knows. I think it makes the children do it when there is more known about it. I sent my son to classes of substances he had every time dirty. unless they want to stop them.

  26. heaven o 29 July 2010 at 11:30 am #

As a parent, I agree 100% with this. My children are only 10.9. and 2, but the first time that I suspect that there is something going with them, I’m testing, then right. It is my job to protect them and teach them and save them from a life of drugs.

  27. melodyzsong214 29 July 2010 at 12:19 pm #

I do not think it helps. If you’re a good father and know how to talk with them, they should not do drugs. If they do it anyway, (genetics or peer pressure) they will find ways around it, there are many things to flush the stuff out of your system. It is also a violation of privacy, and they will take you sick.

  28. kimkim72 29 July 2010 at 1:14 pm #

I think if a parent suspects drug abuse in their child that it necessarily a good idea to test the child for drug use. Even the best mother in the world can have a child turn to drugs. There are so many people out there trying to influence the children to experiment with drugs, and there are a lot of peer pressure on children. I would test my child if I ever thought I would because that would tackle the problem immediately and get them the help they needed. I do not want to be in denial about the problem. Too many children die because of this problem is overlooked and the parents do not want to admit that there is a problem.

Gris-Gris? Use the correct order Voodooo-how could u have such a comment? I think are excellent at home drug testing kits, if not had a child with a problem or a problem, then only for backup pretty sure sorry. Too late is not a joke, if it means a drug addict, it is a traumatic situation in the best of families before.

  30. Geekinpink 29 July 2010 at 2:39 pm #

wow. my brother’s ex g / f’s parents have one on them. they insisted. I know an easy way to drug testing to exist. just do not do drugs. lol.

  31. ice hcky rulz 29 July 2010 at 3:18 pm #

I have to agree that if parents have the feeling, then to drug test a child, they are obviously not enough attention to activities and then there Aufenthaltsort.anderen that I think its a great idea! Children must be observed today, because it seems like little children in the things they get really shouldn’t. Putting fear in a child that you take a drug test if you did something inappropriate is good because they will then think twice when they go to a party or something etwas.natürlich the question then is: What happens when their found that your child was this way stuff? You turn into the cops? Do you base it on their lives? Have you juvineile in a hall? It feels really important, because as long as your child earlier and earlier in the street with the stuff, the better they are später.so in all, it’s a really good idea

  32. Carol B 29 July 2010 at 4:15 pm #

Good question. Even the lowest of the jobs require a drug test in those days. You need to get used to the idea. As a parent it is your responsibility, safety and health of your children be monitored. I see this as nothing more than an extension of my parental duties. Personal responsibility and consistency are part of the real world grew up. What do we teach our children if we do not teach this valuable lesson? and what we do loose on society if we do not have? On the issue of privacy, protection of privacy in our modern world is a myth propagated by idealist naievete. Harsh but true.
